Begum Jahanara

This custom interpretation of Begum Jahanara exchanges the original navy palette for a champagne-beige base with deep-maroon contrast. Against the warm Organza shirt, gold- and silver-toned florals form vertical panels, while maroon insets sharpen the neckline, side sections, cuffs and hem. Tassel finishing adds movement along the lower edge without obscuring the architectural placement of the embroidery.

A separate bustier sits beneath the sheer shirt, and the broad sharara introduces ceremonial volume below it. Maroon sections through the flare visually connect the bottom to the neckline and borders above. The deep-maroon Organza dupatta repeats that contrast through scattered metallic motifs and fine edging, giving the lighter shirt a clearly defined frame. It is independently produced, using Maria B’s design only as inspiration, for a Nikkah, reception or formal family celebration. The traditional sharara set carries ceremonial grandeur in a warmer, more dramatic combination than the official release.
