Rangoli

An ivory organza shirt, worked in sequins, embroidery, adda and foil appliqué — and worked in colour, which is unusual on a pale ground. Small sprays of pink, lilac and green are dropped across the body rather than confined to a border, so the outfit reads as ivory from across a room and as something far busier up close.

The lower is panelled, and each panel takes a different pastel, so the skirt shifts colour as it moves. An embellished dupatta in the same palette completes the three pieces. A wedding formal for a guest who would rather not wear a single block of colour.
